WORM TEA FOR SALE

Wonderful Worm Tea
  1. Worm tea may not sound too appetising but your plants will really love it. Worm tea is a liquid produced by worms, which is high in nitrogen, and when diluted with water makes a highly nutritious plant food, as well as an effective fungicide and insecticide. Worm tea lets you fertilise with something that is really nutritious for your plants. The beneficial micro-organisms contained in the worm tea are absorbed immediately by the soil and plants in your garden very quickly.

You can buy this amazing fertiliser from our school office. We have two worm farms on site. A group of dedicated student gardeners who look after it and carefully collect the worm tea into bottles on a regular basis.

Worm Tea will be for sale on Friday 29th of July from 8.00 -8.30am at our school entry gates.
These bottles of garden goodness are available for $2.00 a bottle or 3 for $5.00

TERM 3-ENVIRONMENT AND SUSTAINABILITY GROUP

I hope to take these beans home to eat for dinner today.

Dwarf beans are ready to be harvested. I can't wait to take some of these beans home for mum to cook for tea.

Oh1 look at these radishes. Just ready to be harvested. Yum Yum

Here are the veggies that we picked from our vege gardens. We are very proud of our school vege gardens.

We planted spuds in our garden in April and now its ready to be dug out. Mr Deed our property manager has been very kind and helped us dig out the potatoes.

Our cabbages and cauliflower are growing beautifully.

I don't mind at all getting my hands dirty when it comes to gardening. I just love working in our gardens at school.

Look at these beautiful potatoes that we helped Mr. Deed dig out.  I can't wait to take these home and get mum to cook  them.

Environment and Sustainability Group- Planning for Term 3

Hi everybody we are the eco kids of Papatoetoe Central School. Today we have gathered to talk about types of vegetables to plant in our school vegetable gardens next term and also plan on a day to sell all the nutritious worm tea that we have been collecting and bottling. We have a really big supply and we are now ready to sell them all.

These were some of our ideas:
Yuvraj -"We can put a table by our front school gates before school to sell the worm tea to the parents"
Joshua- "We can put a SALE sign up"
Ocean- "It'll work".

Worm Tea

We are very proud to have worm farms at our school and we work very hard to produce worm tea that is very nutritious for the plants. It helps the plants grow healthy. We are a group of amazing children who help Mrs Naidu look after the worm farms. Once a week we feed the worms yummy scraps from apples, bread, some paper and many more things and also collect worm tea. We have a very healthy collection of worm tea and now its time to bottle it up to sell. We plan to buy more seeds to plant in our school vegetable gardens. Here they are all ready for SALE!
